Dr. Alicia Ong, M.D. helps parents raise healthy children with the greatest possible ease, pleasure and success. Dr. Ong believes there is more to taking care of your child than treating illness. Parents are welcome to bring well children in for routine check-ups and immunizations. During check-ups, Dr. Ong will screen for early signs of certain diseases, follow growth and development and explain to you what should be treated or prevented. The needs of sick children are met with compassion, and the office staff tries to minimize your child’s waiting time. Expectant parents are welcome to visit the office to arrange care for their newborn or to ask any questions they may have. Dr. Ong and her staff believe that their mission is truly complete when patients who have received their care from birth through their teens come to regard them as friends and advisors as well as their physician. We recently learned that Bizmatics, Inc., the California electronic medical records company we used for our patient records between 2008 and 2012, experienced unauthorized access to certain of their data servers sometime in early 2015. Bizmatics became aware of the unauthorized access in late 2015 and we were notified on April 4, 2016, but only recently discovered that Bizmatics did not notify you of the unauthorized access. Bizmatics has informed us that our patient records were among those stored on the servers affected by the unauthorized access. The potentially affected information may include patient names, dates of birth, addresses, health visit information, and social security numbers. However, we have no reason to believe that our patient records have been accessed or acquired by any unauthorized individual. We are keenly aware of how important your personal information is to you. We recommend you take steps to protect yourself and your child from potential harm, such as monitoring account statements, medical insurance EOBs, and credit bureau reports. You may wish to register a fraud alert with the three major credit bureaus: Experian, (888) 397-3742, www.experian.com; TransUnion: (800) 680-7289,www.transunion.com; Equifax, (800) 525-6285, www.equifax.com. You may also wish to request free annual credit reports from the three credit bureaus by signing up at www.annualcreditreport.com.
