How we've started our small business. We're a small team in love with mobile repairs My iFix Orlando It all started, in 2011 were Luis was sitting around a bonfire in the backyard of a friend's house, minding his own business, texting, when a small pebble flew from out of nowhere and hit the bottom-left corner of his iPhone 4 screen. There had been a funny guy sitting behind him and his friends, he was the one who had been tossing the pebbles. After approaching him, he kindly gave Luis $50 for the insurance deductible, to replace the screen. The next day Luis brought the cracked phone to the Apple Store. After waiting for about an hour an employee brought the iPhone to their secret laboratory in the back. After a mere 60 seconds the employee brought my phone back up and I immediately knew something was wrong. The employee had explained to me that my insurance didn't cover cracks. They said they would fix it for $200 more. I said forget it. My mother is a housewife while my father works for UCF doing the campus a/c maintenance so neither of them knew anything about repairing phones. He went to that one tech guy every friend has and that was my friend. I said, "Apple wants $200 more to fix my screen and I could get a whole new phone for that much. What do you reccommend?" He was told how he has heard of people attempting to fix their phones themselves. Some people were more successful than others. Luis thought he had nothing to lose and ordered a screen off of eBay. About a week later, of course they sent a white screen when clearly they had a black phone. After becoming discouraged, Luis was not waiting any longer, he unscrewed every screw and about 2 hours later he had a mess of screws and electronic components sitting in front of him. He somehow managed to get the device back together and it powered up! My iFix Orlando has slowly grown from that and today it is his full time and only job.
