When we were kids, one of our favorite activities was playing “office” at our fake business, MunSun, headquartered in the attic of our childhood home. The name “MunSun” was our play on Moon and Sun and Monday through Sunday. Though our branding skills may have been lacking, the sentiment was there: even in our imaginary space, we wanted to be open day and night for our clients. Decades later, after college, graduate school, and successful corporate and startup careers, we wanted to go back to our roots. Back to the days when a group of sisters came together, supported each other, worked tirelessly for their clients, and had fun doing it. This inspiration, coupled with the realization that we, and the women around us, felt most empowered when we were surrounded by other women, is how the now-real MunSun Retreats came to life. – Georgia is the original vacation-lover with a passion for language and adventure. Prior to founding MunSun, Georgia spent ten years working in digital advertising in New York City. Working across industries ranging from fashion to sports, Georgia met an endless list of incredible women who eventually inspired her to follow her dreams and start her own business, become a certified yoga instructor, and life coach. A self-confessed workaholic, Georgia knows how important it is to carve out some vacation time to rest, reflect, and have fun. Some of her favorite recent destinations include Greece, Portugal, and Bolivia! When she isn’t traveling or working, she loves to spend time with her sisters and her Chihuahua puppy, Mickey. Anika found her calling as an aspiring island girl in 2005, when she spent a semester studying abroad in Trinidad & Tobago. Although she’s been working in the NYC legal scene for more than a decade since then, she never misses an opportunity to jet off to an island for some oceanic soul rejuvenation. Recent favorites include Barbados, Harbour Island, Majorca, and O‘ahu. With an alter-ego her friends coined “Vacation Anika,” she looks forward to making vacationing a full time job in the future. Kalene enjoyed her personal training career at a variety of different health clubs and eventually took the leap to start her own company, Sweat & Flow. A company focused on personal training that comes to you, worldwide Skype personal training, and nutrition coaching. Kalene draws upon her background in gymnastics, fitness, and yoga to create programs that are goal oriented, challenging, and tailored to her client’s busy lifestyle. She brings endless amounts of energy to every session and truly cares about her client’s success. Her philosophy: “I want my clients to believe in themselves as much as I believe in them.” She is excited to partner with MunSun and continue to help people succeed at being the best version of themselves.
