MORTON BUILDINGS, INC., MORTON

Morton Buildings offers both nail and screw fasteners for your building. Working with your sales consultant, you can select the best option for your building. Regardless of the fastener you choose, you can be confident it will remain strong against the elements. While many companies claim to have rust-resistant or stainless steel screws, Morton Buildings has developed a true stainless steel screw—our exclusive Stainless Steel Internal Drive Screw. Created to provide a color-matched fastener that would look better and virtually eliminate the possibility of rust, this fastener features a solid stainless steel head and shank, as well as a separate stainless steel and EPDM washer. Morton’s double hot-dipped galvanized ring shank nails are 2 ¼” long and provide superior corrosion resistance. Double hot-dipped zinc-galvanized Maze nails used by Morton provide a zinc coating that is 500 times thicker than competitors’ zinc-coated fasteners. Morton Buildings has long maintained a goal of providing its customers with efficient and effective structures. One example of that goal occurred in 1971—the year Morton Buildings introduced its revolutionary insulation system to the construction industry. This insulation system was so advanced, it exceeded energy conservation mandates that would be introduced two decades later. Today, it is still one of the most efficient insulation systems on the market. Unlike many builders, Morton Buildings’ unique structural concept allows plumbing and electrical to be placed between the insulation and the finished wall or ceiling. When a suspended ceiling is used, the HVAC can be placed between the insulation and the finished ceiling. This configuration results in no penetration of the insulation and an increase in energy efficiency and overall insulation performance. Dry-Panel is applied directly to steel panels at Morton’s manufacturing plants during the roll-forming process. The specially designed fabric traps moisture as it condenses and releases it back into the atmosphere through normal evaporation when conditions allow. Dry-Panel provides superior condensation control and is an excellent solution for storage buildings, horse barns and livestock facilities. Dry-Panel can even help protect roof steel from corrosion in livestock buildings. The rubber-based adhesive in Dry-Panel provides a barrier that resists acids and other chemicals typically found in livestock confinement buildings. It can also be power washed for easy cleaning when needed. Fiberglass Condensation Control is another great option when looking to reduce condensation in your building. It is a roll product with ¼” fiberglass between a reinforced foil top surface and a white-coated foil bottom layer. Morton Buildings recognizes a superior building is best accented with an outstanding paint coating. That’s why Morton offers the FLUOROFLEX paint system. FLUOROFLEX 1000 consists of a 70% polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) topcoat or “color coat” and polyurethane primer that utilizes a GALVALUME® metallic coating. There are a number of advantages to Morton Buildings’ use of powder coating that customers will be pleased to note. Morton uses high-performance powder coatings chemistries which cure to a durable scratch-resistant finish with improved corrosion resistance. Morton Buildings also appreciates the ecological benefits of powder coatings. Liquid paints produce hazardous waste that is costly to dispose of. The overspray of powders can be collected and used again and again. The small amount of remaining waste powder can be safely disposed of in approved landfills. Because they are greater than 98% nonvolatile, they do not emit any significant pollutants into the atmosphere. Our new powder coating line helps Morton to provide our customers with the most effective, cost-efficient and environmentally safe paint system available today. Morton Buildings is constantly striving for new and better ways to provide the best possible building for the best possible price, this is just one more distinct advantage of owning a Morton Building. Morton Buildings has engineered its own foundation system that offers superior strength for your new building. Using specially designed components and superior materials, the foundation system can be used in all climate conditions for a variety of building uses. This exclusive foundation system consists of several components: A concrete column, an internal threaded adjustment bracket, stainless splashboard, internal column connector and a wood upper column. “Patented Product used with permission of Perma-Column, Inc.” Lower columns are treated to protect against fungal decay and insect infestation with 0.8 pounds of treatment per cubic foot versus 0.4 or 0.6 found in other building systems. Morton allow for 100% penetration of sapwood treatment to the lower columns, above industry standards and other companies which may only have preservative on the outer edges. This provides superior protection of the wood, even when compared to others’ three-ply laminated columns. Columns are anchored using stilts to provide maximum uplift protection Columns are anchored using rebar to provide maximum uplift protection Very proud to show off all of my Morton buildings. We have a legacy of pleasing our customers, from helping you choose a suitable building size and style, to ensuring that your plan complies with local building codes.  Morton is ready to listen and work with you to develop the building plans that will be most suitable for your particular building needs.
