Welcome to the Momastery (Mom-astery) Momastery is a worldwide online gathering place for people who are tired of making life harder by pretending it isn’t hard. Our rules have been the same for almost ten years: Be brave enough to tell your story, be kind enough to let others tell theirs. Momastery is now a daily Love Warrior boot camp for millions. It’s leapt from the cyber world into the real world and every single week I receive hundreds of handwritten letters from women. My garage is piled high with them. I’ll be reading these letters until I’m ninety. Holding these stories in my hands and heart is one of the great responsibilities and honors of my life—as is traveling to meet my fellow Love Warriors in person. They invite me to their cities for speaking events, and I speak on stage about pain and love and life and we laugh and cry. We become less afraid together. Then I stay to look each woman in the eye and thank her for her courage and kindness. Our hugging lines last hours and hours. No one ever has to rush. Like a monastery, Momastery offers an alternate, kinder, truer, braver way to live in the world. Join us. Everybody’s In, Baby. Our family goal is to finish holiday shopping by the first week of December. We never get it exactly right. But we try hard – so we can spend the month of December making memories instead of trips to the mall. So that our minds are not full of to-do lists, so stress is lower, so the kids are slightly more immune to the holiday marketing onslaught. So we are better able to spend the holidays focused on what we HAVE instead of what we WANT. So mom can enjoy December too. I ask the kiddos to make their wish lists…
