In 1988, William Miller and Catherine Cook combined their energy, interest and expertise regarding the processes and practices of recruiting students to form Miller/Cook & Associates, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in enrollment management for institutions of higher education. As a Dean of Admission and an Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, William and Catherine appreciated the importance of tactical, intermediate and strategic enrollment planning. They also recognized that such planning relies heavily on the collaboration of professionals across all functions of enrollment management. With this in mind, they employ a team of professionals who are highly experienced in enrollment management, higher education research, marketing, admissions and financial aid. Bill has held a variety of positions throughout his career in higher education. These positions have included Dean of Students, Director of Church Relations, Director of Financial Aid, Dean of Admissions, Executive Assistant to the President, and Vice-President for Enrollment Management. The institution-specific enrollment strategies he has designed for over one hundred campuses have involved traditional undergraduate, transfer student, adult learners and graduate and professional student audiences. Bill is a graduate of Bethany College (KS), Southern Illinois University, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and Harvard's IEM Program. Catherine began her career in higher education as a faculty member in the psychology department at Roanoke College. She has subsequently served as the Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs, Director of Academic Support Services and Freshman Year Experience Program, Chief Retention Officer and Director of Advisement, Director of Admissions, and Vice-President for Enrollment Management. She blends her knowledge of research, program design, and skill development to help clients better understand the defining characteristics of their institutions and roles in the enrollment management process. Catherine is a graduate of Bethany College (West Virginia), Washington State University and Harvard's Professional Development Program. With over 20 years of experience in the accounting field, Nancy has been with Miller/Cook & Associates, Inc. since 1995. She is responsible for all fiscal operations of the company. Prior to this she owned her own business. Nancy attended Virginia Commonwealth University.
