The result is a harmonious concept. For the last year or so MIKE GAST Lawn Care, Inc. has been using deep root soil injections for nutrient deficient palm trees. We have been very favorably impressed with palms becoming greener and seemingly healthier. With the recent frost in the area people are particularly concerned about their brown palm fronds and recovery of the palms. Because of the added stress on palms this year we are recommending that everyone have us inspect their trees and consider a root injection of nutrients to stimulate rapid and prolonged recovery. Liquid root injection is absorbed right away while granular slow release fertilizer activates only when watered. We recommend consideration of this technique in early Spring for frost recovery and in the late Fall to help endurance of the winter cold. The national standard for tree fertilization, ANSI A300 Part 2 says, "Sub-surface (deep Root) fertilization is preferred when lawn grass is present." We are also investigating using root soil injections with Orthene and Merit fungicide/insecticides for the control insects and fungus.
