Byron Lee Jones founded Mid-Florida Tree Service way back in 1976 when he was 40 years old. He'd been laid off from the Tampa shipyard and decided to start his own business. Byron didn't have a lot to start with, just a pick-up, a hand saw and three employees, the third being his son Tim. With this small crew, they set out to find jobs in and around Tampa. Over thirty years have passed since then,and his business has continued to prosper like it did in the beginning. Like anything in life, there were tough times but Byron quickly learned that giving the customer more that what was expected and doing every job professionaly, the company would survive. Byron never took any customer for granted and was always honest and fair. He built the company on the motto "Treat every customer as if they were your only customer". Byron continued to grow the company through the 70's, 80's and 90's. Tim continued to work with his Father, helping to build Mid Florida Tree Service into the company it is today. In 2000, Bryon handed the reigns over to Tim who's been running it since. Over the past several years our business has earned quite a reputation for charity and humanitarian work for the service we provide to our community. We have worked directly with various municipalities around the Tampa area, assisting low incomehomeowners with hazardous tree removal or just helping get their property "up to code". Mid Florida Tree Service's expansion over the years has not change the fact that we are a family affair. More that 10 of our employees have stayed with us for 20 years!
