I’m Nicole Santamaria, I love helping families, and educators like you succeed together, both in and out of the classroom. School age children spend about 60 percent of their day writing. If you’re the child struggling, the tired parent, or the frustrated teacher who has no idea how to help, a handwriting issue can easily become overwhelming for everyone. I created Miami Handwriting after almost 20 years in the therapy world seeing kids struggle with handwriting and not getting the help they needed. Miami Handwriting serves children that don’t fall into the traditional OT box, and children that fall into so many boxes that their writing has taken a back seat. Through my various techniques and programs, we can find a solution that fits your child. Miami Handwriting was founded by Nicole Santamaria OTR/L. Nicole has been an occupational therapist since 1995 with a vast experience in pediatrics and adults. She is NDT trained with a strong foundation in development. She is high skilled in fine motor, visual motor and handwriting skills. She is currently a school therapist for Miami charter schools. She is also providing private occupational therapy services specializing in handwriting instruction, remediation and early readiness skills to children in the Miami area. She has received the highest level of certification in this area as a Level 1 handwriting specialist by the popular Handwriting Without Tears Program. This training provides an in depth understanding of pre-k, k – 5th grade print and cursive writing. Services can be applied to many handwriting curriculums used in public, charter and private schools. Nicole reaches out to the community with teacher trainings on normal development as it relates to fine motor, sensory motor, visual motor, and handwriting skills at a variety of schools. She also reaches out to parents wanting to learn more on how to support their child’s development through workshops and hands on training. Onsite training is provided at schools to support the teacher in the classroom.
