Miami Conservatory of Music (MCofM) is a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) community music school which accepts beginner through preprofessional music students. We welcome young students from age 5 and adults, from beginners to accomplished, of all levels and visions. MCofM works with each student to achieve personal goals — goals which can be as simple as learning a new musical expression or to preparing for a professional career. The students are offered performance opportunities in recitals, master classes, festivals, local and national competitions. The conservatory opened in 2003. At the end of the first school year, Miami Conservatory of Music counted 25 students and 4 teachers. Today, we cater close to 600 students and maintain a faculty of about 40 teachers. Providing an environment where students are inspired to learn is the key to our continued success. Brigitte founded the Miami Conservatory of Music fifteen years ago, and the MCA academy in 2006 and has produced many musical and literary events including the Fete de la Musique in Coconut Grove, concerts with world-class musicians and the La Plume Young Writers Contest. The conservatory has also provided music scholarships for musically inclined children whose families have limited resources but wish to continue their training to reach their highest achievement. Mission The Miami Conservatory of Music is dedicated to the purpose of assisting our most-talented young children to reach their highest achievement, with every individual having the maximum opportunity to prepare for a musical career. MCofM’s mission is finding and developing hidden talents within our community and creating venues for their musical expression. It serves as a liaison between beginning instruction and professional organizations. It offers the best in talent training and the possibility of attainment through a talent-and-need-based scholarship program. This is a temporary opportunity with potential to go full-time for the right and committed candidate. We are looking for a motivated, excited, and dependable Scheduling and Office Assistant / Front Desk. That person must have strong communication skills, written and verbal in English and Spanish; the ability to provide courteous, efficient customer service via phone and email; the ability to multitask; must demonstrate ability to work with a team as well as following through on individual tasks; have high energy, be detail oriented and accurate with entering information. Basic knowledge of music is highly recommended. Proficiency with Microsoft office highly desired, and with QuickBooks preferred. Intermediate general office skills such as copying, scanning, faxing, and filing required. Positive attitude a must! Provide information about the conservatory and its programs in person, on the phone or via email to prospective students and follow up on all inquiries. The Miami Conservatory of Music (MCofM) offers students in high school opportunities to perform Community Service hours. Services offered are to help with office duties all year long, our spring Musical Theatre shows, and assist our counselors during the summer camps.
