NSI-MI Technologies' Leadership Team coordinates the Company's various business interests to create and maintain the very best interaction possible with our customers. This team strives to make certain the utmost attention is paid to industry advances that assure our solutions are cost effective and compliant with the needs of our customers. John E. Breyer is President and Chief Executive Officer of NSI-MI Technologies. The Company named John to the posts in 2016 after the Company was formed by merging NSI and MI Technologies. Prior to this assignment John was a founder and CEO of MI Technologies which purchased Scientific-Atlanta Inc.’s microwave instrumentation business. John has been associated with this business and industry since 1989. John's management career includes many years of service with The General Electric Company and Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. At the General Electric Company, he held a variety of technical and managerial positions ranging from systems engineering, program management and general management. He served as General Manager, Surface Ship Anti-Submarine Warfare programs from 1985 until 1987 when General Electric appointed him to the position of General Manager of GE's Undersea Systems business operating at $1B per year. John joined the staff of Scientific-Atlanta in 1989 and served as Senior Vice President and President of the Company's Instrumentation businesses. Prior to joining General Electric, John was a member of a research team at the University of Illinois doing research in acoustics and biomedicine. John is active in a number of industry and community service organizations. He presently serves as a Trustee for Syracuse University and, additionally, serves on the University's Executive Advisory Board for the College of Engineering and Computer Science. In the past, he served as a member of the Business Owners Council with Grant Thornton LLP. John served on the National Board of Directors of the American Electronics Association (AeA) now TechAmerica and in various positions in the Southeast Council of AeA. He also held national positions in the Electronic Industries Association, Government Division. John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Illinois. He furthered his education by taking numerous graduate courses at Cornell University and Syracuse University. He is also a graduate of the General Electric Company's Advanced Engineering and General Management Programs. He has published a number of articles and technical papers in the Acoustical Society Journal and other journals and magazines and has taught short courses on applications of signal and data processing when used with sensor technology and communications. Charles R. Smith, III is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of NSI-MI Technologies. He is a founding member and manager of MI Technologies, LLC, formed in 1997 to acquire the assets of Scientific-Atlanta, Inc.’s microwave instrumentation business. Prior to MI Technologies, Charlie served sixteen years with Scientific-Atlanta in various financial and managerial positions including Corporate Vice President and Treasurer, Group Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of various small business ventures. Prior to Scientific-Atlanta, Charlie spent several years working as a project engineer for Marathon Oil Company. Charlie holds a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech) and a Masters of Business Administration from Georgia State University. He also completed the Harvard School of Business’ Corporate Financial Management Program. Jeffrey A. Fordham is Vice-President, Near Field Systems and Products of NSI-MI. The responsibilities include setting strategy for new business capture and oversight of existing programs and orders. Prior to this assignment, Jeff served as the Vice President of Marketing managing the Company’s marketing activity and applications engineering department. Jeff has also held the role of Vice President of Engineering for NSI-MI, managing all of the Company’s engineering activity including Applications Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering and the RF and Electronics Engineering Departments. NSI-MI was formed by the merger of NSI and MI Technologies in January of 2016. Jeff has years of experience in the design and evaluation of antennas and systems, working with such organizations as the Georgia Tech Research Institute’s Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Laboratory and EMS Technologies Inc., before joining Scientific-Atlanta Inc. in 1996 and subsequently MI Technologies after the company was formed in 1997.
