Mercer Botanicals provides foliage products for: Mercer Botanicals, Inc. was formed by Wayne and Chris Mercer in 1989 with 3 acres of falling down greenhouses.  Today Mercer Botanicals, Inc. has grown to nearly 1 million square feet of modern growing facilities with a 20,000 square foot warehouse with multiple loading bays designed to accommodate all customer vehicles from personnel vans to 53' semis.  Mercer Botanicals, Inc. has put together a great team of high skilled growers and field personnel who are dedicated to ensuring each plant that leaves the facility goes beyond every customers specifications. Joining this team in 2015 Wayne and Chris's son Maxwell Mercer started full time with intentions to carry on the  Plant Production       Mercer Botanicals grows and supplies high quality air purifying machines. Some of the products we grow were tested and promoted by NASA to help reduce toxins like formaldehyde, benzine, and ammonia. Apart from cleaning your air in a home or office other studies have shown an increase in memory and concentration.         Mercer Botanicals over the years has made a mission to become more water conservative. All houses built after 2000 have been put in with low volume overhead irrigation emitters and low volume dripper tubes for hanging material. A professional study was done to find out the output and accuracy of our new and old irrigation systems. From the information gathered we are working to replace the old irrigation systems and improve our accuracy to over 90% in all greenhouses. With doing all of this work Mercer Botanicals has drastically reduced the amount of water use per year while increasing the accuracy of liquid fertilizer applications, eliminating runoff. In an additional effort to reduce the amount of liquid fertilizer Mercer Botanicals incorporates or top dresses a 180 or 360 day slow release fertilizer into all soil mixes.             Mercer Botanicals controls its pests with Biological Predators or Biological insecticides on over 60% of its crops. We are working every day to increase that number.         Mercer Botanicals has been experimenting, and actively using biological predators for over 15 years. The predator Mercer Botanicals has had the greatest success with is the It is the most aggressive biological predator against the Two-Spotted Spider Mite, which is Mercer Botanicals biggest pest problem. Crops like Calathea, Cordyline, Maranta, Neanthe Bella Palm are all grown using program due to other pests feeding on these crops. We are constantly trialing new methods and working with consultants and beneficial suppliers to create a solution. Currently 60% of our Croton production is being treated with a predator/chemical hybrid program. We also are successful at using predators on 60% of our Dieffenbachia production.
