Contact Mellman Medical Thalia is a Southern California native, who’s been in the medical field since 2009. She graduated with honors from WyoTech Corinthian College, in 2009 and is currently working on her BSN at LAHC. She started working for Dr. Mellman in 2015, and is very passionate about her work in the medical field. She has a background in both hospitals and private offices where she gained all of her current knowledge and great patient care skills. As the newest member of the Mellman Medical team and first point of contact for our patients she is eager to help our patients with their needs and will always welcome you with a smile. Susan, a 30+ year patient of Dr. Mellman, came to work for Mellman Medical eight years ago after retirement from careers in municipal government and the airline industry. I’m Rebecca Pestle MMSc, PA-C and I joined Mellman Medical in January 2014. I have expertise in general Internal Medicine including treatment of hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, and general preventive medicine. My goal is to collaborate with our patients to maximize their level of wellness and discover root causes of existing problems. Hippocrates said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” and I incorporate this into my practice. It’s been an honor working along side Dr. Mellman and getting to know the patients in this practice, as well as growing the practice. I have a Bachelor of Science from TCU and completed my Masters in Nutrition at Emory University. I worked as a nutritionist in Atlanta, GA for 6 years before becoming a PA. I completed my Physician Assistant degree at Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana where I went on to practice Internal Medicine for nearly 18 years. I have recently completed continuing education in functional medicine. My husband, Daniel, and I moved to Southern California from Montana where we lived and raised our two daughters. Daniel teaches at Manhattan Beach Middle School and both of our girls now live in California. Hana is a singer/songwriter/producer living in downtown LA and Skyler is a senior at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I grew up in Playa del Rey, so we decided to get out of the cold and come enjoy the California weather. We recently bought a sailboat and it's been fun learning ‘the ropes”. I look forward to seeing you in the office. My wife, Colleen, and I are happily ensconced in Hermosa Beach and enjoy all that the South Bay has to offer and can often be seen walking our dogs, paddleboarding, bike riding, swimming in the ocean or enjoying one of our local restaurants.  We are most fortunate to have, combined, five children.  Aaron, a graduate of UC Santa Cruz is married to Kayla Milgrim, works for as a Digital Marketing and Content Creation Specialist.  Kelsey is a graduate of Indiana University an RN and residing in Berling with her husband Sean Backman and their son Bo  Kirsten graduated from the University of Oregon and is presently employed as the manager for the El Gringo Restaurants in the South Bay as well as a graduate of the full-time employed MBA program at Pepperdine University. Tyler, also a graduate of UC Santa Cruz, is currently living in Amsterdam, Holland attending business school. Kendall is a graduate of Notre Dame and employed as a writer by Redbird in Santa Monica. About Mellman Medical We do accept Worker's Compensation insurance, however we must have a written authorization from the Worker's Compensation carrier prior to scheduling an appointment. Patients who come in to the office without current proof of insurance or, if applicable, Worker's Compensation authorization, will be seen if payment is made at the time of the visit by either cash, check or credit card.
