Founded as a family business by Daniel and Glena Morris, MEI Civil still engages the same philosophy and work ethic that it was created on – that each project be thoroughly investigated and maximized in its financial return to the client. We believe civil engineering is more than just lines on paper; it’s about creating lasting relationships that help our clients succeed. When hiring a civil engineering firm, most people first look at the experience of the firm they are considering. MEI Civil has been in business for 25 years. Over that time, MEI Civil has worked on nearly every type of civil engineering project. Once hired, it’s the client service that brings clients back to MEI Civil. The average client relationship of MEI Civil is over 10 years because the firm has provided its clients accurate engineering in a timely fashion. Throughout the process, we are committed to being a resource, whether it is finding a solution to an issue at the beginning of a project or providing support during construction. For more than 27 years, Daniel Morris has provided his clients with accurate civil engineering plans. His specialty is in land development with an emphasis on site development. In addition, Daniel has provided engineering litigation support for hundreds of eminent domain cases throughout Central Florida. For the past 19 years, Glena Morris has provided her clients with a unique perspective on civil engineering. With a background in the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, Glena understands the requirements of those agencies from first-hand experience. In 1990, MEI Civil was born as Morris Engineering. The Company was initially a part time venture. By 1993, business had grown and the company became a full time civil engineering consulting business offering land development design, permitting, and eminent domain services. It was the eminent domain practice that led to an association with a specialty engineering firm that focused on eminent domain. As that relationship evolved, we were positioned to expand our eminent domain practice providing engineering services to Eminent Domain Attorneys throughout the State. In 2009, the Company changed its name to MEI Civil. The new name symbolizes our continued expansion and vision for the future. As MEI Civil continues to grow, the new name represents not only our founders Dan and Glena Morris, but all of the knowledgeable and enthusiastic employees providing consulting services to our clients. Today, MEI Civil provides our clients with 25 years of experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on providing excellent client service to ensure clients’ success, whether it’s in development or eminent domain.
