Matheny Productions is a full-service video production company. John Matheny spent 40 years teaching choral and orchestral music in the public schools in Ohio and Florida. During that time he was also quite involved in musical theatre with community theatre groups and professional summer stock companies. It was natural to transition that experience into video production, beginning with short, narrative dramas on video in the early 2000's. Having that software available, several of his filmmaker friends started approaching him to edit their short movies. He found that he enjoyed the editing process and that there was a certain similarity to what he had done conducting a live orchestra in his theatre background. Creating the flow and timing of the story was much the same. After all of the filming and post production work is completed, he still really enjoys writing a music score for the project. Most of the videos listed in our portfolios include music scores he has written. The exceptions are noted. Because of this interest, for the last 20 years, he has been investing in and continuously upgrading computers and production equipment to produce short movies, a few commercials, and several promotional videos. Matheny Productions produced its first video in 2004 and has been involved in various projects (commercials, promotional videos, short movies, and a feature movie) ever since. The company started out using standard definition cameras and has now progressed to shooting in 4K with editing done on the Adobe Premiere Pro platform. We can shoot anything from "talking heads" to drone shots. We can work with you to make the production process simple and design a project to fit your needs and fit within your budget.
