The farm location also offers pick your own produce while in season. The Mason Farms Story Within three days, they had raised enough to buy their pony, Patches. Ever since that first strawberry cart in front of their house, the Mason Farms story began to grow. With the success of the strawberries, the family set up a small stand in Lake City to sell their produce to the public. But, they soon realized, they were having a hard time getting residents of Erie to drive all the way out to the farm to buy the produce. So, the boys began going into town to sell their produce at farmers markets. The family also grows most of the annuals for their garden center at greenhouses in Lake City. The public is welcome out to the farm to enjoy pick your own, or buy already picked at their farm stand. Mason Farms has retail locations on Peninsula Drive and Old French Road in Erie. Mason Farms has around 15 full time employees, and throughout our busy season, we add around another 60 employees to keep the farm and retail locations running smoothly. Tim has a masters degree in landscape architecture from Suny at Buffalo. With over 20 years in the business, Tim is our resident tree, shrub, and perennial expert. His years of experience in the industry means he can answer just about any question you throw at him related to planting and designing a successful landscape. Tim oversees our landscaping division and will ensure your landscaping project is completed with an exceptional quality of workmanship and will flourish for years to come. Becky has been with Mason Farms for over 10 years and in the garden center industry for over 20 years. Becky manages our garden center on Peninsula Drive. Becky greets all of our customers with a smile and a friendly attitude. She ensures all of the annuals are expertly cared for so that you get the best quality plants when you come in and shop with us.
