MARSHALLTOWN COMPANY, established in 1890 by Jesse and Lester Williams, began as a small machine shop on East Church Street. Initially servicing local bicycle and automobile repairs, the business expanded into tool manufacturing following customer requests for customized tools. Known today simply as MARSHALLTOWN after a name change in 2003, the company has grown substantially from its roots in producing trowels under Marshalltown Trowel Works to becoming one of the largest global manufacturers of construction and masonry tools. Incorporated on May 16, 2008, in Florida, MARSHALLTOWN's home base is 104 South 8th Avenue, Marshalltown, IA. Throughout its history, marked by innovative product development—including pioneering soft-grip handles in the early '90s—MARSHALLTOWN has consistently emphasized quality and functionality in its over 5,000 offerings targeting professional and DIY consumers alike.
