Shortly thereafter I was offered an opportunity to move back home and help sell and market one of the first condominium developments in our area, West End Harbor. Upon moving back to Mexico Beach in 2003, I met Jason, got married, we bought my family's business (Marquardt's Marina) and opened my own brokerage. Dear Marquardt Realty, My husband Steve and I wanted to thank you and Chrystina for making buying our vacation dream home a reality. We wanted a beach home that we could share with friends and family, but we were not sure where, or what style of home we wanted. I searched the internet for Gulf homes and stumbled upon an area called the Forgotten Coast. The more I investigated the more intrigued I was. I chose Chrystina actually from her picture, and after a very long conversation, I knew our personalities were a good fit. So that weekend, my girls and I hopped in the car for a 7 hr road trip to meet Chrystina, and discover the Forgotten Coast. Not knowing this part of Florida, Chrystina drove us from one area to another, showing us what each community had to offer as well as their beaches. Three road trips later, we finally narrowed it down to Cape San Blas, and then the real work began. We knew we wanted beach front, and Chrystina showed us all the options from shack to duplex, to stand alone, to help us narrow down what we were truly looking for in a second home. There was very little available at the time and we had all but decided to buy a lot and build. So Chrystina regrouped and drove us to all the lots in our price range and we walked them off. As we were driving off the Cape, Chrystina got a call about a house that just came on the market that afternoon. It was it…the one, the perfect beach house! We made an offer that night on the way back to Georgia. One would think that is where the story ended, but actually it was a very difficult negotiation, with many contractual amendments that took two months to close. The sellers had already been hit hard with the spiraling economy, and we didn’t know if we were ever going to come to an agreement. Chrystina not only walked us through the process, but she and I were on the phone daily, working out the details and planning our next move. Had it not been for Chrystina’s knowledge of finance and her due diligence the deal may have never happened. Now we are the proud owners of a fantastic beach house, and we couldn’t be happier with how it all worked out.
