MARKETWIRED IS NOW PART OF NASDAQ Marketwired’s Finance Team Dons Hard Hats for Habitat for Humanity At 8 am in late October a dozen or so members of Marketwired’s Finance Team checked in with Habitat for Humanity Toronto to get their assignments for the day. But those assignments weren’t about accounting, unless that means accounting for paint and drywall skills they hoped to quickly develop. Splitting into teams, the group rolled up their sleeves and went to work. For many years Marketwired has partnered with Five Hole For Food (FHFF), a non-profit that raises food for Canadians across the country. This year, our Calgary and Vancouver teams took part in two FHFF-sponsored street-hockey tournaments – one in downtown Calgary, AB, and the other in downtown Vancouver, BC. Each team made an impressive showing, but the real winners were the Calgary Food Bank and the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society. Members of Marketwired’s Executive and Senior Leadership teams from across the US and Canada joined forces on July 8 and 9 to participate in an offsite event called “Challenge Your Thinking.” Their thinking was definitely challenged as they built bicycles for a women’s shelter during a part of a team-building exercise. Even though bike-building was a skill none of them possess, they still managed to turn out seven road-worthy bikes for a good cause.
