Mark Silver Knives LLC I'm a retired employee of GTE. I started making knives as a hobby around 30 years ago and now I'm making a few knives because I enjoy it and to earn a few extra dollars to help in my retirement. Doing this as a handmade, custom knife company, the labor rate is so low nobody would do this to become rich. For me, it's the personal satisfaction of making something that is useful out of nothing but a piece of steel. The reward is the look on someone's face when they receive one as a gift or when they see the knife that they designed for themselves.
