He graduated with a business degree from the University of Minnesota, then followed his family down to Florida, where they all started a couple of related family businesses that are still going strong today (they operated restaurants and sold refrigeration equipment, which included ground up installations of many restaurant equipment packages). Around the year 2000, John wanted to leave his storefront, and start helping the same customers that he had acquired over the previous 20 years in refrigeration equipment sales–so he started his own independent venture–which was Marathon Air. Marathon Air provides and refrigeration services, mostly to businesses. John is extremely skilled with his hands, but also smart. He truly can fix just about anything — and that includes refrigeration and HVAC, but he’s also just a very handy guy. He is a licensed HVACR contractor and has personally performed or closely overseen crews doing major installation work for very large businesses.
