I have been an entrepreneur since a teenager, first cleaning restaurant kitchens then moving 'West Young Man' and building a commercial carpet cleaning company. I moved into sales with Universal Roofing in 1992 until they closed. I spent the next 7 years with Scott Roofing. In 2001 I was recruited to help build Lyons Roofing. After 4 years revenues increased over 400% at which time my wife and I purchased the company in March of 2005. Varied and diverse. I waited tables well into my 20's and loved it. I began my career with Sprint when they were still owned by Southern Pacific Railroad and had about 700 employees total! I spent the next 13 years in the telecommunications industry in sales. I went back to school and pursued my degree in Organizational Communications with a minor in Spanish from ASU West graduating in 2000. I spent 5 years in software training and loved it until buying a roofing company! I love Sales and Marketing, what other career choice allows you to dig in and learn such varied industries. I have peddled food products to chefs with US Foods, Candy to distributors for M&M/Mars, Clinical supplies to dentists for Smarthealth, Cosmetic Medical Devices to plastic surgeons for Medicis Pharmaceuticals and now Roofing Systems to the clients of Lyons Roofing. Truth is, the critical factors for success in all of these endeavors remain the same. I was born and raised in New York City. 30+ years later…millions of people follow me everywhere I go. I love living here- although I have my heart set on a summer home in Canon Beach Oregon someday. I graduated from ASU with a degree in business management and marketing. Go Devils. My husband Jene and I have been married for 20+ years and have two great kids, Andrew and Jack. Andrew is a self-proclaimed techno geek. He works in the mobile technology industry and is a mobile device guru. Jack attends Horizon H.S. and when he can fit work around his demanding social calendar he is quite helpful on special projects here at Lyons Roofing. I love spending time with my children & grandchildren. I like fishing, boating and riding my Harley. I like socializing and making new friends. I enjoy smart people that are humble and honest. I love a good movie. I don’t like being sick, poor service and mean people. I started my professional career on my 16th birthday selling sporting goods at Montgomery Ward. Being paid 100% on commission, I quickly realized the importance of good customer service. My accounting career began after college in the Insurance Brokerage industry. I stuck with Insurance as Controller, CFO, COO and VP of Mergers & Acquisitions in San Francisco, Albuquerque NM, New York, and Chicago for over 20 years. I moved into Construction field in 2001 in Chicago, and now Phoenix. I have experience with General Contractors, Landscaping, Sport Field Construction and now the Roofing Industry. I have been in the roofing business for over 20 years, both residential and commercial. Customers are smart. They don’t really need me to "sell" them anything… but they need me to "tell" them about the various products and services about which they are inquiring. I love helping smart consumers learn about what we offer and providing the information needed to make the right decision. It is very gratifying to help someone understand the value and importance of investing in their own safety and security. Born and raised a Philly girl- Go E-A-G-L-E-S! Being a C.S.S (Catholic School Survivor), I invoke St. Anthony on a daily basis to help find my keys, cell phone, sanity, etc. I have been in Arizona since 1992 and am still looking for a decent soft pretzel and hoagie… I guess St. Anthony is not the patron saint of Philadelphia food cravings! I was first introduced to the home improvement industry in 1981 by my grandmother when I was a 13 year old. I still remember how excited I felt when my grandmother was teaching me how to operate a jig saw for the first time. I continued my career in the residential home improvement industry. I worked through the ranks, from a carpenter apprentice to a licensed residential building contractor. In 1996 I moved into the project estimating & management still staying in the residential home improvement industry. As a project specialist for Lyons Roofing team, we will continue to streamline procedures to help better serve our customers. I started working with United Coatings in 1974 and relocated from Spokane, WA in 1986. I stayed with United Coatings through 2002. Wow!! 28 years! I got the urge to do something different and went to work for a roof consulting firm to “learn the trade”. I have been estimating for a roofing contractor here locally for the last 6 years. I was born and raised in Spokane, WA. I still have a brother and sister there and another sister in Wichita, KS. I absolutely love living here in Arizona. I have been married for 30 years to my wife Mary. We have two beautiful daughters, Casey and Trista, whom have both graduated college with Master’s degrees and are off our payroll!! Very proud papa!! I love golf, skiing, traveling and of course working for Lyons Roofing!! Oh, and I dislike politics!!
