LUNDAY COUNSELING CENTER LLC, DESTIN

Welcome to Lunday Counseling Center! We are growing! Check out our new therapists and life coach! Dr. Lunday has worked with a multitude of backgrounds, including Child Protective Services/Department of Children and Families, an Advocacy Center working with sexually abused children and their families, domestic violence shelters, a homeless shelter, and private practice. This has provided an opportunity to work with a myriad of backgrounds and issues, though her primary areas of experience include trauma/abuse, anxiety, and depression. Dr. Lunday also published an article based on research she conducted regarding how to heal the spiritual impact of trauma in the summer edition of Christian Counselors of Texas, and presented her findings at the American Association of Christian Counselor’s National Convention in Nashville, TN. A major part of Gary’s ministry has always been counseling and pastoral care of families and relationships and has done extensive marriage counseling wherever he served. Gary is also a Certified Life Coach and is now actively coaching with an emphasis on marriage relationships, personal and business success, and pastoral care of pastors and church staff. Through the years, Gary and his wife have started and grown four businesses, several of which were sold. He has also been actively involved in community affairs serving in leadership positons including president of the local chamber of commerce and chairman of the Main Street Board. He was awarded the Citizen of the Year for his efforts in the Main Street Program which revitalized the central business district. Gary has also been recognized as Outstanding Young Man in America and Who’s Who in American Business. Kelsey has worked with children, adolescents, and adults through a multitude of different agencies and environments. Her experience includes: an undergraduate internship in which she worked with children and adolescents through the use of equine therapy; a graduate internship in which she was a therapist at a domestic violence/sexual assault center, where she worked with children, adolescents, and adults; work experience with the Department of Children and Families; and experience with various different issues through her work at a local community mental health center. In community mental health, Kelsey, worked with adolescents whom were on juvenile probation and were in need of assessment and treatment of mental health and/or adjustment issues, was the coordinator of the Walton County Teen Court Program, and worked with adults and children with various needs (anxiety, depression, trauma, mood disorders, adjustment issues, grief, etc.). She was also the co-located therapist at the local domestic violence/sexual assault center where she continues to provide therapy services to survivors. Kelsey Schneider currently works part-time at Shelter House, the domestic violence and rape crisis center in Fort Walton Beach, FL. She is the mental health therapist at the center and provides services to adults, whom are survivors of domestic violence, through individual and group therapy. Have you had a hard time changing negative thinking, behaviors, or patterns in your life? What therapy does is provide insight into the root cause behind these unwanted characteristics and guidance/suggestions regarding how these can be changed. Therapy is not advice, but rather an outside source that has been trained to pick up anomalies that are often missed by friends or other supportive individuals. A therapist then provides insight and guidance to the client, enabling them the ability to implement the changes they desire. Research demonstrates a better well-being, with lower depression and anxiety levels, for those who incorporate spirituality into their lives. This is especially true for those who have experienced some form of trauma. Faith based counseling provides a holistic approach, incorporating both the spirit and the mind, in the healing process. If you have experienced trauma in your life, you may have been left questioning God, your faith, or your belief system. First, I want to assure you that this is not only ok, but also normal. Through faith based counseling we can explore these questions and help you reach a point of understanding and peace. Welcome to Lunday Counseling Center! We are growing!
