Prior arrangements are required and a minimum $25.00 trip charge each way is required. Depending on distance and location this charge may increase. You will be quoted a price if greater than $25.00 at time an inquiry is requested. While most boarding stays and vacations last up to a week or two, we know there can be times where longer stays are required. Any stay with a minimum of thirty days or longer will qualify for our long term discount. The first month must be paid in advance and the start of every month thereafter. If after making the long term arrangement the full thirty days is not necessary, we will recalculate the stay based on standard rates and will refund or apply any remaining to your account! As you well know, Florida is a tough state for flea and tick control. The moist, hot tropical climate provides the ideal breading grounds for these and other pests. The best way to fight these pests is to be vigilant in the battle against them. As pet owners you want to keep your pet free of pesky pests and so does Krisdan Kennel! We maintain a sterile environment and treat the kennel and yards on a regular basis. We use only pet safe professional products. At times, we have guests whose owners are unaware or fail to notify us that they are experiencing issues with these pests. Therefore, to protect our guests we routinely examine all of the animals in our care and treat any pest problems. The expense to treat any guest for pest problems that are discovered will be taken care of at the owner’s expense. If you cannot find your pet records for proof, no need to worry, just provide us your vet’s name and we will gladly contact them for you!! We require the removal of all pet collars. This helps eliminate safety concerns of your pet’s neck. It is done to prevent our guests from the chance of getting hung up on a water bucket, fence, etc. You may take you leads and collars with you or each run has its own cubby that we will gladly store them for you. We use our own slip leads if and when necessary. We will not forget who your pet is since their names are listed in multiple locations: on their run, feeding board, etc. We are an extremely accommodating facility!! No requests surprise us. We’ve pretty much seen it all. Typical feeding times are early morning and early evening before our departure for the night. However, special requests such as, only one feeding a day, treats at certain time, owner prepared foods, etc. we will prepare. If more feed times (some puppies like to be fed 3x a day) are required we will do it! If you choose not to bring your normal pets food, we will provide food, for Dogs we use Diamond Naturals grain free food. For cats we provide Purina products. Birds, we provide Rowdy Bush pellets and a nut mixture. There is no extra charge for special feedings or kennel supplied food. All other small animals, hamsters, Guinea pigs, etc. owners must provide their own food. As a family oriented facility we will give medications as prescribed by the medication or owners requirements. If your pet needs pills, lotions, sprays, eye or ear drops or even injections, we are happy to oblige! This is part of our inclusive care and there is NO EXTRA charge. Any pet we may feel has an aggressive behavior, we may choose not to board. It is very common, for us to require meet and greets on larger dogs or breeds that tend to be aggressive, for us to require a meet and greet prior to first boarding. This will be determined at the time a new customer is setup and provides details of their pet. Please feel free to bring your pet’s favorite belongings to ease the burden of separation, it doesn’t matter if it’s their favorite toy, bone, bed, etc. We just ask that all personal items be washable. We will not guarantee that it won’t get ripped to pieces, so we do not take responsibility for returning it, whole or in pieces. We do ask that all personal items are permanently marked with your or your pets name. We do provide bedding (all bedding is washed once a day) and toys. We also ask that you do not bring food and water dishes, as we have a sufficient supply for your pet’s size. All bowls are cleaned after each feeding and it can be burdensome to make sure each pet gets their original bowls since so many are similar. Treats are fine!! However, if you don’t bring treats we provide treats daily to your pets as long as you allow us. We use mild treats as not to introduce food products that may upset their bellies. We are aware that socialized play groups, where dogs play freely together, are a recent trend, but we are more concerned with the safety of our guests and your piece of mind than with trends. Even in a closed, supervised environment, even when owners are present, accidents do happen in socialized play because dogs are pack animals. It’s natural and unavoidable for some dogs to seek to display dominance and try to control the pack, and this can result in arguments and fights! Our kennel offers the best of both worlds, our medium runs have a sleeping/eating area of 4’ x 5’ and an open run area of 4’ x 10’ and the large kennels are 4’x5’ and a run area of 4’x14’. In the large portion of the runs your pet is able to see his neighbors, bark, sniff, and run the fence line for a social experience. We believe this is the best and safest scenario. Vet Care: If a situation calls for veterinary care, we will first try to notify you, the owner. Then, if it is during routine business hours, we will contact your regular vet and transport if necessary. Any vet bills will be the customer’s responsibility to cover.
