Lori Faison began her career in interior design in 2000, after an administrative career in advertising with Ogilvy and Mather in Atlanta had her yearning for more creative work. Her work with the agency had her studying the glossy pages of the Home and Garden shelter magazines for a client in the interior design industry. It was the House Beautiful Magazine issue which had published Nancy Braithwaite’s personal Buckhead, Atlanta home that intrigued her enough to knock on Nancy’s eponymous firm’s door requesting an opportunity to learn the business from her from the ground up. Working as Nancy’s apprentice allowed an education like none she could have imagined from one of the industry’s best, and Lori swiftly began paving the way to a career in Interior Design. Nancy was a superb mentor, and her strong designs, through her use of simple, beautifully crafted materials and well edited spaces were the foundation for Lori’s design philosophy. Lori credits Nancy today for fueling her passion for her work. Lori has gone on to launch a custom textile company, Bolt House Textiles, which is yet another creative avenue that she has enjoyed exploring. “Creating product is an area of design that allows full creative independence, which most people in this industry thrive on. I will always be passionate about the art of creating, whether a beautiful space for a client that they have longed dreamed of, or a pattern for a future print, or product for my textile line that once produced for the very first time, ignites great excitement from within.”
