I graduated from Tufts University. I went to work teaching high school math in various Boston public schools. During my teaching days, I got my real estate broker's license. I worked part time selling and renting. In 1979 I began investing in real estate. I bought and sold 3 family houses and condos. In the mid 80's I retired from teaching and began to develop condos. I also got into the management of condo associations. When that market dried up I invested in rental property in Allston, Dorchester, and Providence. These were all rental units that I held and managed for 18 to 20 years. I sold all of it in 2001-2002. I then spent a few years taking care of my aging parents. In 2008 I started buying again. At that time I concentrated on bank owned properties and short sales. Now the market has recovered from the crash. My brokerage business is small. I have no employees. My office is in my home. Because my overhead is fairly low, I am able to offer great savings to my customers. When one lists with a full service agent, the average commission is 5%. This listing agent rarely sells the property. In most cases a Buyer�s agent sells and gets half of the commission or the home owner sells and still has to pay the full commission. why would a person pay full commission when they can get basically the same service and same exposure on MLS and pay half the commission or even just 1% commission? With my service you can still sell yourself by conducting your own open houses which I post on your listing. In this case you would pay just 1% commission.
