LOOKIE HERE FILMS LLC, CLEARWATER

Lookie Here was born from the fact that Amanda and Jenna have always liked ‘underdog’ stories, such as Rudy, The Shawshank Redemption, Gandhi and Rocky. A lot of people think we are crazy to start a film company from scratch, but nothing motivates and drives as much as opposition. We already have a successful media content and commercial company in Capozzi Productions, which affords us a nice life, so, why in the world would we want to be filmmakers and work in one of the most competitive industries? And based on statistics, we have a greater risk of losing money than to make. So, who are we and what can we add to this business? Well, we wouldn’t be here if we didn’t know we had something to offer. That is how the name Lookie Here was born, the underdogs, against all odds, not like Jeff Bridges in the sweat cave, but against all odds of the challenges the film business provides. We built one company out of nothing and we plan on expanding Lookie Here as quickly as possible. We also get the added challenge of being female filmmakers. And like Kathryn Bigelow said: “If there’s specific resistance to women making movies, I just choose to ignore that as an obstacle for two reasons: I can’t change my gender, and I refuse to stop making movies.” This interchange of ideas through picture and sound in an audience is magical. Once we are in the dark and the picture come up, we are all having an experience together. We like films that cause people to talk about them, inspires us. We learned about high school culture in such great coming of age stories as Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles. Every girl at my school wanted a Jake Ryan or Judd Nelson. Films from the past or about the past educate us as much as they entertain, and films about the ‘now’ or the future, can set us on a course for betterment. Films have changed a lot over the years and they will keep on changing. So that is the longwinded answer as to why we created Lookie Here. We are just “good people who make good films.” Amanda’s career began in advertising at BSB Dorland UK, (now Saatchi and Saatchi UK), working alongside the agency’s copywriters Amanda created scripts which won several advertising awards for the following clients; Nescafe, Woolworths and Austin Rover. After one year at the agency she was promoted to the production department and got her first introduction of working on set, and fell in love with the process. The last 8 years was spent working at Capozzi Productions as a Senior producer where many successful commercials were created for Mattel, CHALK Preschool, Durban Bikes, Paw Hills, GemDale, Toucan, BMW, as well as working on other projects for Bratz Dolls, Little Tikes, movie promotions for “The Water horse” and “Nim’s Island”, starring Abigail Breslin. In 2014 Amanda partnered with Jenna Capozzi and created Lookie Here Films, a film development and production company, where they have a number of projects in various stages of development. Inspired by her uncle, Grammy Award winning Jazz legend Jon Hendricks, Jenna knew at a young age she wanted to entertain. Her first production job was, White Men Can’t Jump starring Woody Harrelson & Wesley Snipes, which her uncle co-starred, she was able to work alongside the films director Ron Shelton. From there she was “hooked”. While earning her B.A. in Film from U.C. Santa Cruz. It was at New York University where she gained a real eye for film directing and earned a technical degree in filmmaking, in a graduate program. After New York, she learned that a new TV show, Nash Bridges; starring Don Johnson & Cheech Marin, was planned to begin filming in her hometown of San Francisco, Jenna immediately saw it as an opportunity. Initially she was hired on Nash Bridges as a Production Assistant, but after three weeks she was promoted to Executive Assistant to the Executive Producing team: John Nicolella (Miami Vice), Sheldon Pinchuk (Northern Exposure), Carlton Cuse (Lost) and award winning duo Robert Papazian & James Hirsch. Jenna not only worked as an Executive Assistant to the most stellar producing team, but also held other posts as the show’s Script Coordinator, ADR Supervisor, Actor and Personal Assistant to Cheech Marin. After the 6th season of Nash Bridges, Jenna entered the animated world at Pixar Animation Studios under Steve Jobs and John Lasseter. As the OMF Coordinator on the film Monster Inc. Jenna’s job was to ensure that Academy Award winning director Pete Doctor’s notes were implemented along the animation pipeline to be seen in final cuts in post-production. This is where she gained a full understanding of animation and it plays a part in her work today. After Pixar, Jenna took the big leap to Los Angeles and her long time friend, Cheech Marin, offered Jenna a Producer position with his Chicano Visions project. Other career highlights: Post Supervisor on the TV show The District and Production Managed on Gonzo: Life of Hunter S. Thompson, which was narrated by Johnny Depp. In 2007 Jenna formed and created her own Production Company Capozzi Productions. In the past 9 years, Capozzi Productions has produced over 8500 different video products for clients such as; Mattel, DreamWorks, BMW, Bank of America and CHALK Preschool Online. Production We have your back with years of experience in creative and logistical production. We assemble the best team to ensure the best product, on budget. “If there’s specific resistance to women making movies, I just choose to ignore that as an obstacle for two reasons: I can’t change my gender, and I refuse to stop making movies.” – Los Angeles Based Film Production Company. Great people. Great stories. Great entertainment.
