Dr. Bloom majored in Chemistry and Biology at the University of Miami where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended the University of Miami where he received his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 1981. It was during his studies that Dr. Bloom became very interested in the study of longevity and the causes of aging. After his internship at Los Angeles County Medical Center, he returned to Florida to practice general medicine for several years. While continuing to independently study about healthy life styles, his personal longevity and mortality hit home with the loss of his father from heart failure at age 57. His commitment to learning how to live a longer and healthier life was confirmed at this time. He then went on to specialize in Obstetrics and Gynecology, completing his residency at the combined Cedars Sinai Medical Center-UCLA-LAC/USC Medical Center program. He has been practicing OB/GYN since. When not otherwise occupied, he continues to study the latest developments in the field of aging. In doing so, he has become skilled in Bioidentical Hormone Replacement and traditional herbal remedies. He and Dr. Dodson have developed this website to share their knowledge with others and help them on the road to a longer, healthier and happier life.
