When Thomas Loesche took over management in 1983, he was determined that the company should be an environmental leader. Under his guidance, Loesche GmbH has introduced a variety of environmentally friendly technologies, perhaps the most popular of which is the vertical roller mill for grinding slag. In the early 1990s, yet another ground-breaking mill design in the form of the 2+2 cement clinker mill. As was the case with previous Loesche innovations, this mill proved a resounding success around the world. In the years that followed, Loesche GmbH expanded its range of products and services and invested heavily in the development of new technology. The collapse of economies in South-East Asia in 1997 plunged the company into a deep crisis. However, new ideas and the introduction of a series of rationalisation measures enabled the company to recover. Two of the innovations that date from this period are the slide-in procedure and the introduction of the so-called ‘redundancy concept’. By the time demand picked up again in 2003, Loesche had an impressive range of products that included state-of-the-art mills. Very soon, the company was once again world leader in its field. LESI is incorporated in the year 2016 to cater to Power Industry needs for Coal Pulverisers and upgradation of existing ones for better plant performances. LESI is established to handle supply & services of Coal mills & Dynamic Classifiers to Indian Coal Based Power generation Industry and serve as a supplier of LOESCHE products, spares & services to group companies globally. The factory is located in Chennai - a major manufacturing hub in the Southern region of India. Chennai has second largest sea port of the country, the location thus facilitates smooth international logistic options in addition to national accessibility via road and rail. LESI Plant is holding a total space of 6400 Sq. Meter which includes Workshop, Office, and Stores etc. The Manufacturing Setup is equipped with latest technology machines including CNC Plasma Cutting machine for precise and quality production of goods. The shop floor is equipped with installation of EOT cranes of 20 Tons & 30 Tons capacity each for easy and safe handling of heavy machinery parts. Since then LOESCHE India is engaged and fully equipped to handle supply of dry grinding plants for Cement, Steel, Mineral and Power Generation Industries, Incineration Systems for Decontamination and Thermal Plants. The first LOESCHE mill supplied in India was for grinding Bentonite material in 1975 to M/s.Chowgule Industries in Goa. However the first LOESCHE mill for cement industry in India was supplied to M/s. Dalmia Cement (B) Ltd. for their plant in Dalmiapuram. LOESCHE Mills (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was founded in 2005 in Shanghai, China and is the wholly-owned subsidiary of LOESCHE Germany in China. It acts as a representative of LOESCHE to provide services to the Chinese market. The company now has more than 100 employees and consists of professional teams for sales, design, installation and commissioning. With the aim of improving the competitiveness of LOESCHE products within the Chinese market, LOESCHE management proactively implements the “China Made” strategy, gradually establishing a manufacturing network with Baoshan workshop as its headquarter supported by machining sub-contractors within the Yangtze River delta region. The LOESCHE management team that has a solid knowledge of the Chinese manufacturing industry is making profound use of the manufacturing advantage that can be found across the Yangtze River delta.
