About Little Angels Worldwide Helping little Angels spread their wings     The purpose of Little Angels Worldwide (LAW) is to helpfinance orphanages in Croatia and Nigeria supervised by the Carmelite nuns. Our inspiration to create LAW stems from ourexperience of volunteering during the summer in the Croatian orphanage in Zagreb, Croatia. Spending time with the children was awakening and compelling. We came back to Naples, Florida and felt the need to do more for the children we have met; children who are less fortunate and live without families. We are here to spread the awareness of the need and raise funds in order to help Carmelite nuns who run -Nena Korunda, Vice President (President Emeritus) of Little Angels Worldwide     The first time we went to visit the House of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus, I did not know what to expect. While driving our car through the gate, and onto the property, one of our first sights was a group of boys laughing and playing soccer. The Carmelite sisters came out to welcome us and gave us a tour and then introduced us to all the kids. During our tour of the property, we stopped in a room filled with toys and a large window. One of my most prominent memories of the place was the 6-year-old girl in the room playing with a doll and telling me the story of her family. She was telling me the names of her mom and dad, and how much they all loved each other. She continued her story and looked out of the window. Through the window, I could see trees and past that, the neighbor in his backyard, gardening. The young girl pointed athim and simply stated that this is her father. She looked up at me with innocent eyes, while I was rendered speechless. I realized that this was the imaginary parent she desired so much. All this young girl wanted was people that she could call a family; I believe that she found that in the House of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus. The children are finally happy and well taken care of. Every year that we return, we witness these children growing and flourishing in a protected, loving environment thanks to the wonderful and dedicated Carmelite sisters. Our hearts are filled with joy and happiness knowing that we have met so many incredible little angels. This place is truly special. After all, the magic of this establishment inspired us to create this organization and help these people. Although these children are in good hands, they still need our help.
