LIGHTHOUSE CHRISTIAN PREPARATORY ACADEMY, LLC, DELAND

Our Mission Lighthouse Christian Preparatory Academy seeks to partner with parents by educating the whole child – heart, mind, and soul; guiding the heart toward acceptance of Jesus, inspiring the mind toward life-long learning through challenging academics, and preparing the soul for a life that glorifies God. Lighthouse Christian Preparatory Academy is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS/CASI) through AdvancED and the Florida Coalition of Christian Private School Accreditation, Inc., (FCCPSA). LCPA offers a traditional classroom education, taught by qualified and dedicated professionals with a passion for their students. We choose to use Christian curriculum to insure our students are taught from a Christian worldview. For our elementary and junior high classrooms, we use Bob Jones; and for our high school, we use a combination of Bob Jones and Ignitia, a digital product by Alpha Omega Publications. Students grades 3-12 will have access to a full range of courses through a digital Christian based curriculum (five courses per year for 3-8; six courses per year for 9-12), guidance from our administrative team, Title 1 tutoring options (if eligible), academic record keeping, and a fully accredited high school diploma for those who successfully complete our program through 12th grade. Parents act as the teacher, making sure students stay on task and complete course work at an acceptable pace. This program is covered by the Gardiner scholarship offered through the Florida Choice Scholarship program. Standardized testing and teacher facilitated grading are available for an additional fee. This program is offered to parents of homeschool students who need help or want the backing of an accredited school for their child’s academic records. LCPA must approve the curriculum and academic plan of each student annually. Portfolios of student work are required to be submitted quarterly. Annual standardized testing with LCPA is included. Accredited high school diplomas will be issued to students who meet Florida graduation standards. Many schools use the word preparatory in their name, but not all of them follow through with anything out of the ordinary to prepare their students. At LCPA, our goal is to have every graduate ready for whatever they choose as the next step in their life – whether it be college, trade school, military, entering the workforce, building a family – no matter what their dreams or goals, it is our mission to help make them ready. We do not take this challenge lightly. We understand the only way to accomplish this goal is with mutual respect and understanding throughout the learning process on the part of all participants – faculty, students, parents, and community. As part of this goal, core classes are offered as standard or honors. Our Integrated Multi-media Classrooms embrace technology, engage students, and promote learning while preparing students for real world applications. This decision is important, and we know it is one you will consider carefully. Whichever school you choose for your student, we understand it must be a good fit for everyone involved. We appreciate being considered as a partner in the growth and education of your student. At LCPA, we work diligently to help our students achieve their goals and reach their potential. Some of the colleges our graduates have attended include Bethune Cookman, Daytona State, Florida A&M University, Florida State, Florida Southern, Full Sail, Nova Southeastern, Stetson University, Southeastern University, Tennessee State, University of Central Florida, University of Florida, University of Texas, and more. Our alumni work in the medical field, law enforcement, have entered the military, gone on to law school, become professors, served at the Pentagon, serve in ministry, and often return to give back to LCPA and the community. LCPA has evolved into a school focusing its efforts on all areas of a child’s education and development as an individual. We strive to prepare them for life with our R4 program. Our students are educated, honorable and ready to lead and succeed. The depth and breadth of a successful life includes living with integrity, compassion and spiritual devotion, along with a superior education. By providing a curriculum that prepares each student for the path God has for their life as individuals, we are able to graduate our students as highly prepared adults ready to contribute to society, raise a family, and nurture a career with the skills and work ethic to realize their fullest potential in life. The R4 program was designed by LCPA to take the concept of education and create an ambitious academic program which incorporates an equally important real-world agenda based on a Biblical worldview. Our desire is to prepare every single student with the skills to embrace his or her next step in life, both academically and personally. Academics and personal virtues are not mutually exclusive but overlap and contribute to each other, and we realize the importance of nurturing both. Leadership skills, work ethic, and personal integrity are no less important than academic achievement. Unlike most traditional schools, our curriculum expands its mission to also focus on nurturing the life skills needed to succeed in every challenge and triumph life has to offer. This focus is why our students are educated, hard-working, and compassionate people with uncompromising personal integrity ready to contribute to society. Our graduates have been academically challenged but also understand fiscal responsibility, as well as what it takes to become a good parent and spouse. Developing a passion for God and the self-discipline required to strive toward Christ-likeness are also important elements of the R4 approach to education. Our graduates lead. Our graduates succeed. Our graduates realize their potential and are ready for life. What we expect of ourselves in comparison to what we expect from each other is the foundation of our character. At Lighthouse Christian Preparatory Academy, personal reflection is incorporated into the curriculum.
