Welcome to Light In The World Ministries. My name is Stephen Cartwright and I am the president of Light In The World Ministries. Our purpose for this ministry is to help forward the work of the late B.H. Clendennen in running Bible training schools called the “School of Christ.” I have been working with the teaching of the School of Christ since 1999, when I first traveled as a missionary to the country of India. My wife and I lived there for 3 years running short term Bible Schools, which trained pastors and leaders of churches with the School of Christ curriculum. In 2002, due to visa problems, we had to move back to America where I was asked to work in the head office of the School of Christ International in Beaumont, Texas. For 9 years I worked as the Media Coordinator for the School of Christ International. During this time I was privileged to see the School Of Christ established first hand in Indonesia and Pakistan. Our family relocated to Indonesia for a time in 2004 to see the work firmly established in that country. For the latest updates on what we are doing, please visit the home page. This month of November and into December, we are running a school in Ivory Coast in a village call Tiassale – about four hours’ drive from Abidjan, the Capital City. We currently have 32 pastors registered for this training. There is much that can crowd the Christian’s faith nowadays. In a lot of places marketing, business acumen and popular psychology have replaced the simplicity of faith, prayer and the preaching of God’s Word. The message of the schools we run is “Life”. The life of Christ made real in and through the Believer is the answer to every situation.
