Jay Frank Castle is a mediator, facilitator and corporate director with a broad background in business and law. Jay is a co-founder and member/manager of Level Mediation LLC. He also serves on the boards of directors of two privately-held companies – a soft drink distributor in Northwest Louisiana and a professional services firm in metropolitan New York. Jay is the former vice president, assistant corporate secretary & general counsel, and chief litigation counsel for a Fortune 200 company. Among other things, Jay was responsible for managing that company’s Chapter 11 reorganization, which included resolving approximately 20,000 scheduled and filed claims presented in that case. Prior to that, he was a partner and associate at several prominent Atlanta law firms. Jay received his Doctor of Law (with Distinction) from Emory University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts (with High Honors) from the University of Florida. Jay is passionate about helping people understand the issues that they face. He takes the time to verify that the participants can both comprehend and give voice to their views about the often-overlooked intricacies of disputes. No matter how complex, Jay has an uncanny knack for breaking down the intricacies into readily understood & manageable discussion points. He uses his background in business and law, as well as heavy doses of common sense and good humor, to guide the parties and their counsel towards productive negotiations.
