Legal and Technical Translations (L&TT) is the leading preeminent source of legal translations from Spanish to English, Portuguese to English, and English to Spanish in South Florida, and among the leaders in the United States. In 1980, our Director, Michael Powers Ph.D., became a US Certified Court Interpreter; he is one of the original ten interpreters to pass the exam, since only ten passed in the entire nation the first year. He wrote and administered the Federal Court Certified Interpreter Exam with a small team that included the former Chief Interpreter of the United Nations. In 2017 he was awarded the honor of being among the top 3 federal certified court interpreters (out of 1,150) in the United States. Over the years we have completed thousands of translations in different fields and specializations including legal, medical, business, academic, and personal documents. We hold knowledge in a variety of fields; over the years we have done the research and acquired the experience necessary to translate accurately in 111 different subject matters. Dr. Powers has experience teaching Spanish, Portuguese, and ESL at a college level. He has a unique approach to teach using the Internet platforms available and interact directly with the student to remotely provide the one-on-one experience, offering options like one hour of language instruction per week for a year. To maximize, the students must dedicate time learning and practicing up to two hours on off-line homework to maximize their acquisition.
