It is my personal belief that for life to be in balance, one should be open to change, growth and acceptance of self as well as others. With the many life stressors that surround us each day, it can be difficult for us to stay in constant balance and, like any other program – nutrition, exercise or academic – individuals should have access to the variety of emotional tools that can help strengthen and maintain one’s locus of control.
Coaching assists personal development – building life-plans and establishing and achieving both long and short term personal goals. A coach is a helper, not your therapist, your boss or you. Only you can decide what you want out of each session and it is up to you as to what you may or may not want shared with others (e.g., your goals, challenges and problems) who may be able to assist in you reaching and maintaining your personal life-plans and goals.
Life coaching helps you implement your solutions to your issues/concerns and problems. Identifying key issues may be easy, but implementing solutions could be the hardest part for an individual. Therefore at times, it may be beneficial to have individuals personally involved in your life included in your work to help further your progress either as an individual or as part of the relationship.
The most important factor in successful life coaching is having the willingness to understand, identify and accept that areas of your life may not be as productive, healthy or beneficial as you may want and that you want to make changes to your life. Initial motivation and drive for change comes from the assistance of a coach – and often may involve additional supporters such as family, friends or partners to help as you build (or re-establish) your confidence and self-worth.
Understand that coaching is not medical or mental health care. It is not psychotherapy and is not a substitute for psychoanalysis or medical care/treatment. The purpose of coaching is to assist an individual in developing and implementing change, enrichment of their personal life and helping one establish holistic wellness in ones personal and professional life.
Welcome! Thank you for visiting my website. I hope that you will find information that will help you begin your journey of self-awareness, understanding and change.
My approach in assisting individuals with self-care, growth and direction utilizes my knowledge of the various fields of psychology and combines this with homeopathy, which differs from standard psychotherapy. As such, I offer individuals an alternative option in dealing with life/stress management that is based on homeopathic philosophy — that the mind and body work together. The focus is not solely on a) an individual’s deficits, b) the suggestion that individuals have a mental disorder, or c) that only current expressions or responses to thoughts, issues and concerns are of importance. Instead the focus is on the whole person: physical, emotional and psychological.
I offer guidance and education to help understand and identify stressors, to separate thoughts from worries and concerns, and help individuals become responsible for their personal thoughts and behaviors through acceptance, resolution and commitment.
I work with individuals, families and groups, as well as helping professionals, providing ongoing education through workshops and training. This approach addresses the many issues, concerns and diverse challenges that are present today and continue to be a source of stress and frustration.
