Learning and Families, Inc., is a registered non-profit organization under section 501(c)(3) serving as a supportive Christian home school community primarily in Sarasota and Manatee Counties of Southwest Florida. Established on July 28, 2003, with the filing number N03000006671, our mission centers around offering a comprehensive range of services to facilitate the educational journey for homeschooling families. Over the years, Learning and Families (LAF) has evolved its offerings to include co-op classes from kindergarten through twelfth grade, small group sessions, an annual curriculum fair, parent meetings, social functions such as a high school prom and graduation ceremonies, yearbook publications, field trips, as well as collaborative discounts for members joining Florida Parent Education Association (FPEA) and Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). LAF continues to embrace its foundational focus on creating supportive networks, providing an enriching educational landscape that uniquely integrates faith with learning. Emphasizing a holistic approach, our programs encourage understanding of global geography, cultures, missionaries' roles in history, and various map skills among others.
