While there is much in institutional religion that is a turn off (leading to the trend of "Loving Jesus not the church" or "I am spiritual, not religious"),  being an active part of a good church family that loves God and one another is a part of God's plan for Christians. If you are in the Jacksonville area we hope you will consider how Lakeshore can help you learn the Bible, serve God and others, and grow as Christian! We are a simple, independent group of Christians. The Bible is our authority in all things. Elders oversee the work of the church, functioning as shepherds to the flock of God (the church) and are assisted by deacons. (1 Timothy 3:1-7, Acts 20:28-29). This year we are going to spend alot of time on Sunday mornings looking at how our faith should affect our family life. God has a perfect plan for the family with built in contengency plans for rich blessings even when things don't go "just right". We have a moral obligation to do things God's way but we should also trust that God knows best and be confident that we will be better off if we trust our heavenly Father and do things His way.
