LAKAY DABO, INC., WINTER HAVEN

Lakay Dabò is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which started as an idea. This idea quickly sparked into a mission, which then became a movement. Lakay Dabò translates from Haitian creole to meaning “first home.” In November 2016, Lakay Dabò was established as a “WhatsApp” group. The mission of this group was to reach out to as many people around the world, originally from Picmi (Peek-mee), LaGonave, Haiti and put hands together to help change and develop their first home. While a very young organization, Lakay Dabò has been able to install a manual water pump for the community of Picmi; provide the elderly funds to purchase groceries during the new year holiday; started to tackle the issue of deforestation by planting 30 fruit trees; conduct a mobile clinic in which gave the community access to a doctor and medicine for a day in January; also provided a vehicle that will serve the community in-event someone needs to go to the hospital. Join us by contributing to the mission of rebuilding Picmi. Lakay Dabò is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which started as an idea.
