About Killearn Properties, Inc. Killearn began in 1964 with the idea of creating communities that would cater to a variety of lifestyles in Tallahassee, Florida. Through the years, the company has been extraordinarily successful in achieving this goal and was credited with “changing the way the capital city of Florida lives” as well as “changing the Southside of Atlanta”. Their company was listed on the American Stock Exchange for 31 years. The four Williams Team (father JT and Joe, David and Bert) has demonstrated their ability to create quality developments with protective covenants and restrictions to maintain property values for decades. J. T. started as a highly acclaimed CPA when he scored the highest grade in Florida on the CPA exam and then went on to serve on the National Audit staff of Price, Waterhouse & Co. out of New York. Then started his second career in creative land development and construction. Joe handles the outside work to be sure the infrastructure (utilities and roads) are installed in a quality manner and to meet or exceed normal standards, and he supervises the construction of homes, golf courses and building when they do that for themselves. David does all of the behind the scenes work of getting the zoning, permits, engineering, master planning, financing, accounting, letting of contracts, designing the amenities, and the other areas to be sure things happen in a quality manner. Bert’s college degree was in marketing and he makes sure the marketing and sales plan are formulated and implemented to provide success. He is a real estate broker and he recruits, hires and trains the agents to produce optimum sales results.
