Within the bight and spacious Kids Village classrooms are experienced and accomplished teachers that utilize Saxon curriculum combined with our Five-Senses Learning approach. Kids Village was created by Ann Whittaker, recipient of the Arthur V. Watkins award for Business Woman of the Year by the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce in 2008. Since its opening, Kids Village has been directed by Kathleen Jensen, who has educated Utah children for over 30 years in both public and private settings. Beginning with an enrollment of only 13 students and two educators, Kids Village quickly grew and has maintained full enrollment since 2008 with a waiting list filled primarily by referrals from delighted parents. In 2015, Kids Village expanded their school with a 6,000 square foot addition with 6 new classrooms, a library, and a state-of-the-art technology center. To-date, Kids Village’s single location in Orem, Utah has served thousands of children ages two through eight across Utah, Salt Lake, and Wasatch Counties. FAQ – How Does Kids Village Preschool Manage Food Allergies? Before your child starts at Kids Village (or at any point during the school year) you will be given the opportunity to notify Kids Village of any food allergies, sensitivities, or dietary restrictions. This information is provided to your student’s academic teacher as well as to the workshop teachers. Kids Village has a very small student-to-teacher ratio. This means teachers can maintain detailed knowledge of each student. Teachers are committed to staying apprised of student’s special needs, allergies, and restrictions, and can closely manage special circumstances that may affect your child. While your child’s academic and workshop teachers stay abreast of food allergies and dietary restrictions, we also want to ensure any teacher or administrator in the school can see at a glance if your child has special dietary needs. If your child has a food sensitivity or allergy, Kids Village will attach a gingham ribbon to his or her apron to indicate a dietary restriction. Nancy Tillman is a bit of a celebrity to children’s books aficionados, especially for her New York Times Bestsellers "Kids Village is without a doubt the best private school in Utah! Finally a school putting FUN back into learning! Our children get to learn in a fun, loving, safe environment with a caring staff that you will not find anywhere else. Hands down, best private school in Utah!" "The best part of Kids Village is the reaction I get from telling people that ask me which preschool I chose for my son; every single person has had nothing but GREAT things to say about this school, from people they know that have kids there, to the staff that work there, to wishing that their kids could be in that school. Worth every penny." "Aside from the excellent curriculum Kids Village provides, we also love all the hands-on workshops they get to attend. Not only are my children performing above grade level, but they also get to enjoy classes like cooking, computers, science lab, art and music." "We currently have all four of our children attending Kids Village and we could not be happier. If you are looking for a quality private school for your children in preschool to 3rd grade, look no further. I promise you will not be disappointed." "Kids Village has been changing lives for twelve years. My sixteen year old was asked her favorite teacher so far in school – she replied, 'Miss Valerie, my Tater Tot teacher at Kids Village.'"
