“The Primary purpose of the Foundation will be to provide opportunities for deserving students in the [Palm Beach & Martin] counties which I have connections to, who may not otherwise be financially able, to obtain a degree from a four-year college or university” The Kantner Foundation Inc., was established in 1987 by Woodrow A. Kantner, self-made real estate developer/investor from Martin County, Florida, to carry out his twin objectives of (i) providing scholarships to like-minded high school students from the local community, and (ii) advancing the free enterprise system and community-based philanthropy. The Kantner Foundation seeks to recognize high school students who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to improving the lives of others in their community, and who have demonstrated fundamentals of entrepreneurship at an early age. The Kantner Foundation is a non-profit section 501 (c)(3) tax exempt organization and Private Foundation that offers a unique opportunity to those who would like to support talented students through scholarships, but would prefer not to be involved in the daily operations and application screening required to identify deserving, top candidates. Under the provisions of the Kantner Foundation, a donor may enjoy all of the benefits of charitable giving, but, most importantly, donors will have the satisfaction of knowing that their contribution is being used to enrich the lives of our country’s future leaders.
