Kahn Inc. has been a player in the technical product space since 1945 as part of The Kahn Companies group. Primarily focused on equipment that serves industries like aerospace, electronics, petrochemicals, processing, and manufacturing, their expertise lies in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic products. The company's journey began with its pioneering work on hydraulic dynamometers, stemming from an original focus on aerospace test gear. Their dynamometers are essential tools for measuring the power output of engines, turbines, and electric motors by employing water-based mechanisms. These robust solutions have found extensive use in development, production, and post-overhaul testing across diverse sectors like aerospace, automotive, and power generation. A key highlight from Kahn's innovation calendar was their creation of a particularly large dynamometer designed for the endurance-testing of LM2500 marine gas turbines on U.S. Navy destroyers back in 1971. This impressive machine could handle up to 37,000 kW (50,000 hp) at speeds reaching 4,500 rpm and weighed over 36,000 kg (80,000 lb). It held the title for being the largest hydraulic dynamometer made by a U.S. company until it was replaced in 1991. Based out of Aventura, Florida, Kahn Inc., operates internationally with local representatives supporting their direct sales strategy. Although registered under the name Domp since January 12, 1982, and last noted for a name change on October 5, 2015, they remain active in business operations reported up until 2024, aligning with regulatory standards as per Florida’s corporate filings. Leading the charge is Cheryl Kahn, whose leadership role echoes through years of continuous service since the company's inception.
