follow K9s United on all things social K9s United is Committed to Honoring and Supporting the K9s that Detect and Protect K9s United is a predominantly volunteer based organization that fills the needs of K9 units while providing our K9 Heroes the best equipment, amenities, and quality of life during and after their service while memorializes those that gave the ultimate sacrifice. When a sheriff’s department has two K9s retire, there comes the challenge to fill the void of these four legged heroes.  With such tight county budgets, these transitions can become a financial burden as well as a community safety issue.  Thanks to two organizations, 2 K9s have the Clay County sheriff’s department to call home.  Jacksonville based nonprofit, K9s United, in collaboration with nonprofit Warrior Dog Foundation, in Frisco, Texas were able to present Officer Steve Hills with K9 Max and Officer Andy McCrea with K9 Timber this past Thursday.  The donated K9s are Belgian Malinois and are dual purpose. K9s United was inspired by the bravery of  K9 Baron who gave the ultimate sacrifice on October 7, 2014 while pursuing a convicted felon with an outstanding warrant. His sacrifice, like so many other K9s before him, was without reservation and because of the loyalty he had with his partner. We are committed to honor the K9s that have given the same sacrifice starting at Barons "End of Watch" and beyond.  Each K9 will be memorialized with a sketched picture which will be displayed virtually on our Tribute Wall and a canvas print will be given to their handler.
