Johnson & Roberts, LLC (JRA) started with Mike Roberts, a former police psychologist who changed the way police officers were selected and trained through his 'San Jose Model Field Training Program.' This innovative program got recognition in 1972 by IACP as one of that year's top technological breakthroughs. Wanting to take it further, Dr. Roberts joined forces with Mike Johnson, known for his skills in psychological testing and statistical analysis. Together, they founded Johnson, Roberts, and Associates, Inc., in 1986, aiming to help public safety agencies improve their hiring processes by providing specialized test reports across the country. Their first big project was developing the Personal History Questionnaire for the California Highway Patrol in 1989. It kicked off a line of products addressing key parts of pre-employment evaluations not just for police but also corrections, firefighters, and other public safety roles. Their integrated Test Scoring System software makes these tools easier to use while doubling as robust platforms for research. JRA boasts service to over 100 agencies, including well-known law enforcement bodies and independent psychologists nationwide. In a significant move in 2018, Mike Johnson switched to an advisory role. Dr. Ryan Roberts took the helm with his impressive background-holding degrees from MIT and Harvard Law School, combining psychology, engineering, and legal expertise. The company is registered under Florida as FLAL 1127 SW FORESTHILL COVE in Port St. Lucie, with its inception logged on May 6, 2014, led by managers Alfonso Ljr Johnson and Yvonne Johnson. Its mission remains steadfast: to keep pushing the envelope in psychological assessment products through a mix of seasoned experience and technological smarts.
