My name is Joey Lee, I am now 52 years old. I am a Gay Disabled Man living in NorthEastern Pennsylvania, sharing my life with my ''Life-Partner'', David*. We have been together for 25+ years. Having been physically and emotionally abused as a child, by my Father, I felt I would be able help the children/teens by understanding some of what they go through. As a counselor, I believe I was able to help many of the children/teens. Being the smallest in size of all of the staff, I still felt like I had to do something. So, as the other staff waited for more back-up, I decided not to wait, and headed right for the largest of the two children fighting. It was then, that while struggling, the larger of the two fell and landed on my right leg, crushing most of it and doing considerable damage to my right knee and just about everything attached to it. As time went by, and the pain worsened, oral pain medications became much too dangerous. In April of 2001, a Morphine Pump was implanted into my abdominal area, which has helped greatly. It was through these People I gained my own Strength again. I was able to literally Help these other people from every part of the World. My "Life" began to have "meaning", once again. The feedback from these people was incredible. My self-worth was once again restored. Friendships, and I, me, was able to actually help others to LIVE with their illness, much like I had learned. So Joey Lee rises. Joey helps people. In 1992, he was a counselor at the East Mountain campus of Friendship House, a family services center where he specialized in helping troubled youths. On Feb. 18, 1992, Joey says a brawl erupted and he -- 5-foot-11 and 130 pounds -- got caught in the melee. "Don't ever stop helping people and being positive about life because that's the reason for living. Thanks for always being my friend. I love you and always will." My name is Joey Lee*. I am 52 years old, as of January 22nd. I am physically disabled and also gay. I have two or three main purposes for creating, and maintaining, this website; mainly to provide support and resources for those that, like myself, a little about Joey Lee* still remains one of the most undiagnosed diseases amongst Chronic Pain patients. And for those that are diagnosed, it can take years to find the right team of Doctors to provide You with ANY treatment for the pain, if at all. where I would be able to continue to HELP others. I wanted to find a way to help others that may be dealing with similar situations;
