At age 20, Sifu Joe joined the Lee Koon Hung Choy Lay Fut Kung Fu Association. He was very fortunate to study under Grandmaster Lee Koon Hung for a few years before Grandmaster's untimely passing. Sifu Joe later helped to grow Grandmaster’s school and even opened a second location in Boynton Beach. Sifu Joe has traveled the world helping to spread traditional Chinese Kung Fu and gaining many international students. Sifu Joe Keit also developed, produced and was the main demonstrator in several instructional videos on Choy Lay Fut. Sifu Joe met Master Chow Keung in the year 2000 and quickly developed a good friendship with him. Master Chow of the style “Tai Shing Pek Kwar” began teaching Sifu Joe Pek Kwar style. Since that time, Master Chow has passed on a wealth of knowledge to Sifu, and hopes Sifu Joe will pass on his skills. Many of Grandmaster Lee Koon Hung’s students in Hong Kong have been an inspiration to Sifu Joe, and they helped him fine tune his skills. Sifu Joe believes that training in the martial arts can be a great influence on people’s lives and great care should be given to choosing a school, as not all schools are the same.
