Who We Are Meet the Company Jinga, an independent production company founded by Giorgia Lo Savio, was created with the view to develop and produce ground-breaking feature documentaries and dramas with international subject matter and appeal. Jinga is particularly, but not exclusively, interested in bringing Latin American projects to an international market. In developing projects from the first idea to the end product, we work with creative and exciting teams on a project by project basis and have built excellent working relationships with different partners around the world who enjoy collaborating with us. We are passionate about what we do and support new and emerging talent, whilst exploring character driven stories that move and challenge. Her first production was ‘Only When I Dance’, a feature length documentary shot in Brazil, Switzerland and NY which was commissioned by Channel4, Arte France and NPS TV in the Netherlands. It was winner of the former UK Film Council Development Fund and The Tribeca Gucci Fund. The documentary premiered in competition at the 2009 Tribeca Film Festival showing at major festivals around the world. It was nominated for ‘Best Documentary of the Arts’at the Grierson British Documentary Awards and at the ‘Rose d’Or’ Award. The film was released theatrically and sold worldwide. Giorgia moved from Italy to the UK in 1990 where she completed a BA Hons language degree in French and German. She began her film career at FilmFour, an independent studio headed by Paul Webster where she worked as a publicist for six years. She worked on over one hundred and fifty films with acclaimed directors such as, Ken Loach, David Lynch, Wim Winders, Steven Soderbergh, Jane Campion and Todd Haynes. During her time at FilmFour she was also involved in many different aspects of the film making process gaining experience in development, production and international sales. In 2003 Giorgia was instrumental in setting up the UK distribution company Verve Pictures, launching Gabriele Muccino’s ‘The Last Kiss’ and first time director Karl Goldman’s ‘The Honeymooners’. A year later she decided to pursue her career as film producer and set up Jinga Pictures. While developing her first production she continued freelancing as a publicist and theatrical film consultant developing publicity and distribution strategies for feature documentaries and films. She worked mainly with UK Revolver Film Distributor on such films as, Terry Gilliam’s ‘Tideland’, Werner Herzog’s ‘Grizzly Man’ and Charlie Kaurfman’s ‘Synecdoche NY’. In 2011 she went to run the sales and acquisitions department at Ondamax Films, a Miami-based international sales agent specialized in Latin American titles, before returning to her film productions. She is currently developing and producing various projects with Latin America, in USA and Europe. Amy received her first producer credit with Infinity Features’ and Summit Entertainments’ 2008 release of “Push”, a sci-fi action thriller directed by Paul McGuigan. She then went on to produce Heath Ledger’s last film, the Oscar and BAFTA nominated “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus” directed by Terry Gilliam, a UK/Canadian co production. Amy continues to collaborate with partners on an international level drawing on her extensive experience and understanding of the industry and film-making process, from development all the way through to worldwide distribution, promotion and theatrical release. She has experience in the independent and studio film arenas, as well as in producing short films and music videos to include a Kate Bush music video, Rupert Friend music video and Terry Gilliam’s short “The Wholly Family”.
