JAX Salt Company is a disabled veteran owned premium oceanic salt company. Hand processed in small batches by master artisan sauniers, our salt is unsurpassed in freshness, texture and taste. We take pride in crafting our products from locally sourced ocean water and locally made ingredients. While on deployment with the US Coast Guard Reserves, I began to make my own sea salt from the Atlantic Ocean. I found it more flavorful in comparison to salt I bought in grocery stores. Being a foodie, I started to integrate it into my cooking and gave it away to friends. My hobby over the years became a passion that I never imagined would lead to a business. However, I had a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and began a backup career managing the labs at a university’s biological research department. When I met up with my foodie friends, I was encouraged to continue my salt production and use unique flavoring methods learned in the labs. Sticking true to my environmental science education, I wanted a product that is made from local resources. By cutting unnecessary food miles, having a food that is traceable to its pure sources and using methods of processing that have minimal impacts on the environment; the JAX Salt Company provides products that are high quality, natural and local. Our employees are disabled veterans, disabled law enforcement and disabled adults. We want to give back to those that helped protect our nation and give to those that want to the ability to have a meaningful job no matter what their (dis)ability is.
