At our heart, however, JAX Refrigeration is a community-oriented company. We created JAXCares, our 501c3 nonprofit, in 2014 to help support inspiring individuals and charitable organizations through fundraising and events. With social responsibility at our forefront, JAX Refrigeration has contributed to more than 30 civic, charitable and educational organizations, both in and out of the Jacksonville community. JAX Refrigeration Mission and Values Our Mission Provide the best mechanical contracting experience for the customer via emphasis on safety, quality and service. JAX Refrigeration began in 2010 with four employees in a small, Jacksonville Beach office. President and founder Mark Lowery worked in the industry for more than two decades before taking the leap to establish JAX Refrigeration. His goal of providing a higher level of professional expertise and customer service to his clients, coupled with his commitment to create an inspiring company culture, led JAX Refrigeration to become the award-winning company that it is today. October 2011 marked a pivotal moment in the success and corporate mindset of JAX Refrigeration and its employees. Operational restrictions from the company’s original investors caused JAX Refrigeration to lose two major projects. Ten employees had to be laid off and the remaining staff opted to take a pay cut to stay with the company, coming together with a determination to make it work. The loss spurred CEO Mark Lowery to buy out the investors, allowing JAX Refrigeration to pursue new types of projects, and more of them. Employees’ wages were reinstated retroactively and paid back within six months; but it was the employees’ committed faith in JAX Refrigeration throughout it all that shaped the company’s unyielding support of its people. Together, they became family. JAX Refrigeration has since grown into a nationwide organization with four branch offices, a fabrication shop and more than 70 employees. Despite being one of the region’s fastest-growing companies, JAX Refrigeration has kept the traditional, family-based values it was founded upon. Even its Jacksonville Beach headquarters, completed in September 2015, echoes the company’s balance between cutting-edge industry trends and a people-first focus. It serves as a visual reminder of the company’s innovation, talent and valued employees.
