Our Musical Theatre Program offers classes for students in grades K-12 providing training in acting, singing and choreography and applying it in full-scale musical productions.
All of our classes and rehearsals as well as some of our performances take place at our newly renovated studio. The space is also made available as a black box theater space for local productions.

WHO WE ARE
Jansen Dance Project was founded in 2003 and is providing highest quality dance and musical theater training, serving the New Tampa, Wesley Chapel communities and beyond. Led by Kristen and Troy Jansen, the Jansen Dance Project features the best faculty in the Tampa Bay Area.
Troy began his training when he was six under the tutelage of Camille Sanfilippo at the Westbury Academy of Dance in Westbury, NY. Professionally he has performed with the Bay Area Dance Co.(director), Columbus Dance Theatre, Atlanta Ballet, Sound F/X Tap Co. (director), Florida Orchestra,Tampa Bay Master Choral, BalletMet Columbus, JazzMet Dance Company, Opera Columbus, the Pan American Games, and with the late-great Frank Sinatra and theYvonne Parente Theatre Company.
Kristen was born into dance, growing up under the guidance of her teacher and mother, Joan Seitz. She continued her studies at The Ohio State University and BalletMet Columbus, while simultaneously pursuing and receiving a B.S. degree in Pharmacy. As a professional dancer, Ms. Jansen was a founding member of the JazzMet Dance Company and Sound F/X Tap Co., and performed with BalletMet Columbus, as well as, Opera Columbus.
Della Marsan is in her tenth season at Jansen Dance Project where she enjoys teaching Dance and Musical Theatre to students of all ages. Della is currently a dancer in Collective Soles Dance, and she previously spent two seasons at Columbus Dance Theatre under the direction of Tim Veach. Della received her training at BalletMet Dance Academy in Columbus, Ohio and American Repertory Ballet’s Princeton Ballet School. She has been delighted to perform in numerous contemporary and classical works and work with choreographers such as Troy and Kristen Jansen, Juan Rodriguez, Merry Lynn Morris, Tim Veach, Kennet Oberly, April Berry and Stella Kane. Della has also danced with Shoes At The Door modern dance company and is a featured dancer in the Collective Soles Arts Group annual productions of Goin’ Nuts! and the Nutcracker.
Audrey Richter has been teaching dance to students of all levels throughout Central Florida and is in her fifth season as an instructor at the Jansen Dance Project. She is also a dancer in Collective Soles Dance Company, and the director of Collective Soles Youth Ensemble. Audrey graduated from the University of South Florida with a BFA in Dance Performance. During her time at USF, Audrey danced in numerous faculty pieces as well as works by guest choreographers, Claudia Lavista and Rick McCullough. Audrey also performed in the USF recreation of Bill T. Jones’ Serenade/ The Proposition, Talley Beatty’s Come and Get the Beauty of it Hot and as “The Chosen One” in Doug Varone’s Sacre du Printemps. She has studied and performed internationally in Paris, France; Tunisia, Africa and Montreal, Canada. Audrey has danced professionally with DRIP of Orlando, Florida, and Adin & Ferguson Dance Theatre.
Jansen Dance Project (JDP) is a professional training and performance arts facility offering a comprehensive educational program. Collective Soles Arts Group is our not-for-profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives of young people through involvement in the performing arts.
The faculty of JDP is dedicated to providing a nurturing experience in the art of dance and theatre that will assist in the physical, intellectual and spiritual development of students at all levels. Our instructors are among the best in Tampa including current company members of Collective Soles Dance Company and other professional companies and universities around the country.
Jansen Dance Project is also home to the Collective Soles Arts Group (CSAG), Collective Soles Dance Company and Youth Ensembles, plus the Moving To Read literacy through movement program. CSAG is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organizations promoting the art of dance in the Tampa Bay Community.
To promote and support the arts community of the Tampa Bay area, a studio space was recently renovated and made available as a black box theater space for local productions. With optional, provided light and sound equipment and flexible audience seating, the space is available for local businesses, artists and arts organizations to use.
Eligible organizations may apply for a box office split arrangement to mitigate productions.
Studio spaces are also available for rent by local businesses,artists and arts organizations for classes and meetings.
