Back in 2003, folks in Tampa came together to create something special: JANSEN DANCE PROJECT, LLC, a place where dance and musical theatre training thrive. Nestled at 5011 Londonderry Drive, just minutes away from New Tampa Community Park and Freedom High School, JDP is all about serving the community, with a focus on families in New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, and surrounding areas. Kristen and Troy Jansen, both seasoned professional dancers, lead this fantastic place. They've poured their years of dance experience into building programs that offer top-notch training for students eager to explore dance and musical theatre. And it's not just about the moves; their team, featuring talented individuals from the Collective Soles Dance Company, really knows how to nurture growth-physical, intellectual, and yes, even spiritual. Youth with a passion for singing, acting, or dancing can dive into JDP's Musical Theatre Program, which caters to students in grades K-12. It's an integrated experience where they get to perfect their craft and shine in full-scale musical productions, all happening at JDP’s own modern studio that doubles as a welcoming black-box theatre. Beyond training the next generation of performers, JDP plays a key role in enriching the community through its nonprofit partner, Collective Soles Arts Group (CSAG). CSAG supports youth engagement with its dance company and ensembles while making space available for other artistic organizations to host their events. It's a shared mission that sees JDP lending facilities and technical support like lights and sound equipment. Kristen and Troy continue to pour their hearts into JDP, offering up a creative sanctuary where young talent from the Tampa Bay area can flourish.
